Llamas

 

This week we are learning about llamas and gettinng information and retell it in less words. This activity is used for reading which was super fun because we learnt diffrent ways of learning and learning about animals is fun. First we had to write in our books about Llamas. After that, I went on Google drive and made a Google drawing, When we were finished I decorated it to be fabulous and creative. Then I made a Google slide ( also from Google drive) about the products used from  Llamas hair. I added pictures and put it in remove BG which is a website that removes the background. Then, I did the information and font to decorate. This experience was fun and I felt joyful and I enjoyed doing this activity. Finally I blogged. I hope you guys will like it to!

Mascots

These past two weeks we had to work on this.

First we had to answer some questions and read the text.

After that we had to comment the answers of the words and research

and put it in the comments as the answer.

Then we had to highlight the words we did.

Finally we had to blog.

Historical Guided Reading

This week for Reading we had to work together with Miss Lowans and work on this.

First Miss Lowans told us to comment and answer each of the questions.

Then we had to read the text and  use that information to answer.

Next we had to make a summary about a procedural text.

Finally we had to blog.

My summary was: Procedural texts is a numbered sequence of actions or steps needed to make or do something  they also have Punctuation Bossy, verbs Complex words and Descriptive words

Micaela Poetry

This week for Reading we had to do Poetry .

First we had to open our class site and listen to the song shotgun bye George Ezra .

After that we had to answer the questions and highlight the words in the sound that are

Litery device words like Metaphor , Simile , & Rhyme . Then we had to put the sentences

that were in the song in order . Next we had to write down were we would wanna visit

and explain why . Then we had to write a 20 word Summary . Finally we had to make a picture from Kleki

of us listening to Shotgun .

Taniwha Reading

This week and last week we were working on Taniwha’s.

First Miss Lowans discussed with us what to do & gave us some answers to

the question .  After that we started to work on it and try our very best . We all had to read the text to get most of the

questions right.Then when we were finished we had to make a poster to call out to people to help the envoirment.

Next when we decorated it we had to make examples of how to help the envoirment.

Finally we had to show Miss Lowans and Blog.

Wonder

This term in reading we are diving into a novel study for the book “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio.  This week we are trying to understand the characteristics and personalities of key characters in the story.  We also practiced summarisation  skills by extracting relevant details from the text.


We had to read Part One Chapters 8-10 which was about Auggie who announces that he has chosen the science elective anyway, which Julian pronounces to be the hardest elective. Julian doubts whether Auggie can handle it. He just can’t wrap his mind around the mysteries of homeschooling: how a kid can actually learn anything without a real teacher? Jack stays out of it.

 

Next, we used what we had read to answer our slides about the key characters.

 

I enjoyed Reading the book.

I need to improve on understanding.

I did well at Finishing Early.

SSR Selfie

This week for reading we had to do a SSR Selfie.

First we had to look for a book on Epic or our own book we wanted to read.

Then we had to read the book and insert a photo for it.

After that we  had to fill in the SSR Selfie template based off what we read on our book.

Finally we had to list three new words with their meaning with our own words.

Comprehension- The Deep Ocean

This week for Reading we all had to chose between texts that other groups had execpt our own.

Our LI (Learning intention) was to revise skills needed to read for meaning and understanding.

First we all had to start off with our Prior Knokledge and watch a video to help.

After that I had to read my text.

Then I had to write down Three reasons for it to be Impossible to scuba dive all the way In the Deep water.

Next I had to tick the sentences that had true info.

After that  I Had to name Four physical characterstics of deep dwelling fish.

Then I had to write about ”lures”.

After that I had to write words that have the same meaning but different words.

Next I had to Add the prefixes to form the oppisite.

Then I had to name the catorgories that fit.

Finally I had to do My DLO.
